Laurel Gilliam Moore-Leblanc "Loli"

A Home-Going Celebration for the life of Laurel Gilliam Moore-Leblanc “Loli”, 64 will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Zion Hill Christian Fellowship with Rev. Dr. Darren M. Sophus, Sr. Officiating.

She will await the resurrection at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery #1 in Loreauville, LA

A gathering of family and friends will be at the church on Saturday 8 a.m. until the time of service

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, LA she passed at 6:55 p.m. Monday at Lafayette General Medical Center.

She was a 1966 graduate of Jonas Henderson High School, and a 1970 graduate of Grambling College. She received her Master Degree from Southern University and retired with over thirty years as an educator in the Iberia Parish School System. She was a faithful member of Zion Hill Christian Fellowship where she worked untiringly with the youth department.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Albert Leblanc, two brothers, Fernon Gilliam (Shirley) of New Iberia, LA and Ernest Gilliam, Jr. (Claudia) of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Fronia McGruder of Lake Charles, LA and Martha Davis of Houston, TX, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Gilliam, Sr. and Laura Polk Gilliam, one brother, MacArthur Gilliam, and four sisters, Jacqueline Gilliam, Marilyn Gilliam, Carol Gilliam, and Brenda Gilliam Ledet.

Active and Honorary pallbearers will be members of the immediate family and friends.
