Mayor Timothy S. de’Clouet
A Home-going Celebration for the life of Mayor Timothy S. de’Clouet will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday July 5, 2013 at First Jerusalem Baptist Church 835 Monnot Road Jeanerette, Louisiana with Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander, officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Saint Peter United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette, Louisiana with full military honors.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 7:00 A.M. Friday at the church until time of funeral services.
A native and resident of Jeanerette, Louisiana he passed at 9:20 A.M. Monday at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was baptized at an early age at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA. de’Clouet attended Canal Street Elementary School and graduated from Francis Marion Boley High School in Jeanerette. He also earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin in business administration. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy, de’Clouet was decorated for service in the Vietnam War. de’Clouet was elected in 1991 as Jeanerette’s first black alderman-at-large and served as the first black mayor in April 2011 and took office July of that year. He was executive director for the housing and urban development.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Quincy Sereal of Jeanerette, LA, and T’Jon Hamilton de’Clouet of Franklin, LA; one daughter Kendra Pearl de’Clouet of Tallahassee, FL, two stepsons, Jamie Gray and Jamaris Gray of Alexandria, LA; two step-daughters, LiKishon Lilly of Grand Prairie, TX, and TeShira Gray of Alexandria, LA; two brothers, Cornell (Joanna) de’Clouet and Bobby Lee de’Clouet of Jeanerette, LA; three sisters, Gwendolyn (Tommie Lee) Hall, Diann de’Clouet, and Pamela de’Clouet all of Jeanerette, LA; ten grandchildren, a special friend Brenda Leblanc of St. Martinville, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Demetry J. de’Clouet and Jessie Mae Landor de’Clouet, maternal grandparents, Valrie Landor and Pennie Washington Landor, paternal grandparents, St. Clair de’Clouet and Nettie de’Clouet.
Active pallbearers will be Cornell de’Clouet, Sr., Cornell de’Clouet, Jr., Peter Dejean, Herbert Bell, Albert Boss, and Wendell Derbigney.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Lee de’Clouet, Demarquis Randall, Ron R. Derouen, Roland Hill, John Edward Cooper, Ronald Porter, Olen Green, Riley Lee, Jeanerette Marshall’s Office, and City of Jeanerette Employees.
