James “Dee-Mo” Moore, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Edward Catholic Church for James Moore, Jr., with Monsignor Ronald Broussard Officiating.

Interment will follow at Saint James Baptist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette, LA.

Visitation will be held from 5P.M. until 9 P.M. Friday at Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation resumes on Saturday from 7 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.

A native and resident of Olivier, LA, he passed at 10:30P.M Friday at Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

James was a member of Saint Edward Catholic Church, and a 1966 graduate of Jonas Henderson High School, a 1973 graduate of Grambling State University. He was formerly employed by the St. Mary Parish School Board and the Iberia Parish School Board.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Mildred Butler Moore of Olivier, LA; one son, Cedric James Moore of New Iberia, LA; two daughters, Kacie Moore Blalock (James) of Greensboro, NC, and Kami Moore of New Iberia, LA and their mother Brenda Dorsey Moore of New Iberia, LA; six sisters, Adrienne Hart of West Palm Beach, FL., Marilyn M. Jones (Mack) of Fort Lauderdale, FL., Atrice Polk (Kelvin) of Hickory, NC., Marcella M. White (Robert) of New Iberia, LA., Dwan M .Ross (Grady) of Royal Palm Beach, FL., and Tameka Robinson (Travis) of Royal Palm Beach, FL., two grandchildren, Indya Moore and Cedric James Moore, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Andrae Joseph, R.D. Mitchell, Robert White, III, Sanders Butler, III, Travis Dorsey, and Aristeal Butler.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Blalock, Alfred Archon, Ted Williams, Walter Butler, Sanders Butler, Jr., David Manuel, Godfrey White, Robert White, Jr., Kelvin Polk, Sr., Grady Ross, Travis Robinson, Mack Jones, Arnold Bell, Robert Mitchell, Sr., and Bradley Butler.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Moore, Sr., one brother, Sidney Moore, paternal grandparents, Samuel Moore and Loney Moore, maternal grandparents, Sanders Butler, Sr. and Zeola Kingston Butler.
